From teardown to testing, National Powertrain knows quality. Check out the video to experience a day in the life of a National Powertrain transmission.
Teardown
In transmission remanufacturing, it all begins with a core. Each transmission core goes through our teardown department. There, it’s completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and prepped for the remanufacturing process.
Machining
To better control the quality of our transmissions, we custom machine as many parts as possible. From NP-spec bushings to modified valve bodies, our machining department helps ensure OE+ quality for each transmission.
Parts
Our Parts Department meticulously maintains a number of parts and subassemblies that make the remanufacturing process run smoothly.
Valve Body
Before the building process can resume, each valve body must be completely disassembled and thoroughly inspected. Every valve, plug, clip, and solenoid is guaranteed to meet or exceed OE specifications.
Building
This is where the magic happens.
The parts, valve bodies, and subassemblies are masterfully combined to produce a completely remanufactured transmission.
Dyno Testing
Our custom-designed dyno testing program collects and processes more than 1,000,000 bytes of data from each transmission. Hot-testing, cold-testing and road-testing helps ensure a better-than-new, fully remanufactured transmission.
